Michael S. Day, MD, MPhil, FAAOS

Dr. Michael Day is a board-certified, sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon practicing in Chambersburg, PA. With over a decade in training and expertise in body mechanics, physiology, and longevity, Dr. Day’s practice focuses on the total care of the athlete.

 

Dr. Day completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University and holds a master’s degree from Oxford University. He attended Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. He then completed a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery with subspecialty board certification in sports medicine. He is the author of numerous research publications in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and member of the Arthroscopy Association of North
America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

 

Dr. Day is currently a member of WellSpan Orthopedics, in Chambersburg, PA, part of WellSpan Health.* He is also a team physician for the Chambersburg Area Senior High School Trojans and Penn State Mont Alto. His clinical interests and expertise include joint preservation, cartilage restoration and ACL reconstruction. His patient-centered approach includes minimizing the use of opioid pain medications to reduce the community’s exposure to these potentially dangerous drugs.
